Unlike a [virtual account number](/guides/product-features/virtual-account/account-number), which is a reusable, standing bank account number, a cash deposit generates a **single-use, disposable account number per transaction** — once the payment completes, that account number is no longer valid. The trade-off is precision: because each cash deposit is tied to exactly one transaction, the conversion rate is locked in ahead of time via a quote, rather than applied at the moment of an incoming transfer.
